InnoPath's UI Customization Technology Popular Among au Subscribers
Demonstrates role of Mobile
Device Management in New Revenue Generation
Tokyo, Japan - December
4, 2007 - InnoPath
Software, Inc., the industry leader in Integrated
Mobile Device Management (iMDM) solutions announced
that the UI Manager solution delivered to KDDI
Corporation and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company
has been gaining popularity among au subscribers.
The service offered by KDDI,
called EZ Keitai Arrange, allows users to easily
customize the user interface (UI) on handsets
with a variety of different UI theme packages.
Since the launch of the service last year,
millions of users now actively subscribe to
EZ Keitai Arrange. The subscribers to the service
represent a significant number of KDDI’s
customer base, and the number continues to
increase on a monthly basis.
With the UI Manager, theme-based UI packages
are easily downloaded over-the-air allowing users
to personalize their user interface including
standby screens, menu screen, and ring tones
to their favorite characters or themes. From
the operator perspective, services such as EZ
Keitai Arrange help differentiate services, drive
ARPU, and increase customer loyalty. Handset
manufacturers benefit from reduced UI customization
development costs, easy porting and implementation
on any device software platform. For content
providers, the UI Manager permits easy creation
of content which in the past was restricted to
specific UI components and demanded extensive
amounts of time.
“In a market with increasingly sophisticated
functionality and services for mobile phones,
there is a growing need to provide end users
with a higher level of personalization. The success
of KDDI’s EZ Keitai Arrange is an example
of the transition of Mobile Device Management
from first generation deployments focused on
FOTA (Firmware Over-the-Air), to more sophisticated
offerings supporting revenue generation,“ says
David Ginsburg, VP of Marketing and Product Management.
InnoPath has shown strong
market traction with its recent carrier win
at US operator Verizon Wireless, and its ranking
in Inc. magazine which named the company as
one of America ’s
500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies. Additionally,
earlier this year market research company IDC
identified InnoPath as the strongest MDM vendor
in its ability to gain market share and alignment
with market opportunities.
