LOS ANGELES, CA — September 12,
2006 — At the CTIA Wireless
and Entertainment 2006 tradeshow today,
InnoPath Software, Inc., the industry
leader in Mobile Device Management (MDM)
solutions, unveiled version 5.1 of its
iMDM Solution Suites. iMDM 5.1, available
for shipment immediately, builds on the
commercially proven success of InnoPath’s
FOTA (firmware-over-the-air) and configuration
solutions, delivering important new capabilities
that enable mobile operators and device
manufacturers to bring new handsets and
services to market rapidly, accelerate
data revenues, strengthen subscriber
loyalty, and reduce overall support costs.
“The internet, computing, multimedia,
consumer electronics, and voice experience
continue to converge on the mobile device.
Every enhancement increases the potential
for problems. Without reliable and hassle-free
setup and delivery of new applications
for subscribers, new revenue growth for
service providers is at risk,” said
John Jackson of the Yankee Group. “Winners
in the competition between mobile operators
will deliver a differentiated, highly customized
subscriber experience on different devices.
Standards-based, integrated mobile device
management platforms are essential to their
success.”
iMDM 5.1 provides an integrated platform
for delivery of MDM services and includes
support for Open Mobile Alliance (OMA)
interoperability standards. It provides
mobile operators with a single common view
of subscribers, devices and network traffic
points, and expanded integration to back-end
systems. New diagnostics capabilities enable
operators to rapidly gather device configurations
for improved customer satisfaction and
service quality. Workflow Designer, featuring
a drag and drop interface, enables mobile
operators to easily create their own MDM
business processes for customizing firmware,
configuration and diagnostic transactions.
An enhanced user interface unifies overall
system management, reporting and monitoring.
“With widespread commercial deployments
at Tier 1 carriers worldwide, InnoPath
is the market-proven solutions leader,
and our new iMDM 5.1 Solution Suites deliver
cutting edge new capabilities that mobile
operators require,” said John Fazio,
president and CEO of InnoPath Software. “As
a pioneer in Open Mobile Alliance (OMA)
interoperability efforts, we also realize
that the rapid adoption and success of
MDM depends on support of industry standards.
iMDM 5.1 reflects InnoPath’s industry
leadership and commitment to OMA standards.”
iMDM 5.1 Solution Suites support both
CDMA and GSM networks, with integrated
capabilities to remotely configure settings
and new services, gather device diagnostics
and fix problems, and update software and
firmware over-the-air (FOTA) – all
in real time. The iMDM Carrier Suite and
iMDM Device Suite are standards-based (supporting
OMA-DM 1.1.2 and 1.2, OMA-DL 1.0, FUMO
1.0, OMA-CP 1.1) so they can operate independently,
however working together, they create a
unique end-to-end solution to meet the
challenges that operators and handset manufacturers
currently face. A common platform maximizes
performance on the server side and ensures
a smaller footprint and better utilization
of scarce handset resources. The iMDM 5.1
platform provides the foundation for rolling
out current and future MDM solutions.
InnoPath will demonstrate the iMDM 5.1
Solution Suites at the CTIA Wireless and
Entertainment 2006 event in Los Angeles,
CA from September 12-14, 2006, Booth 256.
