San Jose, CA—March 29,
2005—InnoPath Software,
Inc. (formerly DoOnGo Technologies),
the industry leader in over-the-air
(OTA) mobile device management, today
announced it has joined the Symbian
Platinum Partner Program to support
the emerging market for Symbian OS™ smartphones.
As a Platinum Partner, InnoPath is
working with Symbian to ensure that
its OTA mobile device management
software suite is optimized for Symbian
OS-based smartphones. Symbian develops
and licenses Symbian OS, the global
industry standard operating system
for smartphones, to the world's leading
handset manufacturers including Motorola,
Nokia, Samsung, Siemens and Sony
Ericsson.
InnoPath’s OTA solution, DeltaUpgrade
Plus™ keeps handset firmware
current and functional by making it
easy for manufacturers to update handsets
whether they’re in the factory,
the retail store or the hands of subscribers.
Warranty expenses are dramatically
lowered and recalls are obsolete. Meanwhile,
manufacturers have the ability to bring
new handsets to market on time, meeting
end-user demand for the latest functionality
and staying one step ahead of the competition.
"Network operators and Symbian OS
licensees increasingly need to deliver
and install software components and
patches securely and seamlessly over-the-air
to Symbian OS-based smartphones,” said
Simon Garth, VP Marketing, Symbian
Ltd. “InnoPath Software offers
an efficient, cost-effective OTA solution
to our customers and we are pleased
to welcome InnoPath Software to the
Symbian Platinum Program."
"Sending timely and secure software
updates to mobile phone users will
become critical to customer satisfaction
and retention,” said Luosheng
Peng, CEO, chairman and co-founder
of InnoPath. "Joining the Symbian Platinum
Program enables InnoPath to leverage
Symbian’s rich and robust OS
to provide leading mobile phone manufacturers
and service providers launching and
supporting Symbian OS-based phones
and services with the tools they need
to effectively manage them throughout
their lifecycle.”
