InnoPath Software, the leader in Mobile
Device Management (MDM) solutions, enables wireless carriers
and mobile device manufacturers to deliver and support
current and future revenue producing services with the
reliability, simplicity, and value of a proven utility.
The company offers a complete end-to-end Integrated Mobile
Device Management solution consisting of both the server
and a standard-based client.
InnoPath understands the carrier's need to grow
consumer and enterprise data ARPU by reducing time-to-market
for new, compelling services, minimizing ongoing customer
support costs and encouraging new service uptake through
discovery. InnoPath accomplishes this through commercial,
revenue-generating deployments that prove the strategic
value of MDM to the carrier. InnoPath's server and client
solutions are deployed at carriers including Cingular,
KDDI, Sprint, and Softbank Mobile, and device manufacturers
including Kyocera, LG, NEC, P&C, Panasonic, Sanyo,
Sharp, Sony Ericsson and Toshiba.
As part of Innopath's commitment to
its Tier 1 customers, the company has in-house expertise
permitting it to work with carriers through all phases
of MDM deployment, including planning, systems integration,
commissioning, and ongoing support. This expertise results
in trust, critical as MDM takes on a strategic role within
the carriers business.
Proof Points
-
InnoPath has successfully commercialized
every carrier evaluation in its history, and is deployed
at multiple Tier-1 operators including Cingular, Sprint,
KDDI, and Softbank.
-
InnoPath has successfully conducted
tens of millions of over-the-air transactions and firmware
upgrades without a single failure in the field. The
company pioneered the field with the world's first
FOTA deployment in Japan.
-
InnoPath's MDM platform serves
a total carrier subscriber base of over 255 million
users, over 200 handset models, and more than 80 million
devices. It holds over 90% of the MDM market share
in Japan, and over 80% in North America.
Products and Technology
InnoPath's industry leading iMDM suite, built upon years
of Tier 1 deployment experience with its MDM and DUOS servers,
provides carriers with a strategic platform upon which
they may deploy a complete set of MDM applications. The
server component includes configuration and provisioning,
firmware updates, remote diagnostics, security management,
software management, and interfaces to enterprise device
management. One of the more powerful capabilities of InnoPath's
iMDM suite is the ability to create a workflow, merging
together a set of actions such as firmware and configuration
updates. This ability is one of the major advantages of
a single, integrated, platform rather than relying on a
set of standalone applications from separate vendors.
For the client, InnoPath is unique
in being able to offer the carrier the choice of a standards-based
OMA compliant server and client, or alternatively, providing
the carrier with a single, turnkey solution where the standards
do not yet offer the set of features required or where
the carrier wishes to focus its efforts on areas other
than server-client interoperability.
The Market Opportunity
Although carriers have only recently
deployed MDM in production networks, the financial advantages
in terms of reduced OPEX and data ARPU growth are apparent.
With most mid-range and high-end handsets FOTA-enabled,
carriers now have a client base of critical mass to make
MDM a necessity. In 2007 carriers will save over $2.7B
globally in reduced operational expenses through MDM-enabled
configuration, diagnostics, and upgrades (Strategy Analytics).
Revenues enabled through MDM though quicker service uptake
could equal or exceed that number. These compelling financials
will result in an MDM vendor server opportunity of over
$1.1B by 2011 (Visiongain), separate from any handset revenues
or service revenue sharing. Over time, 75% of the thousand
or so operators worldwide are expected to deploy MDM.
Standards Leadership and Patents
InnoPath has leveraged its real-world carrier experience in driving standardization
efforts within the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), and consistently demonstrates
full compliance with standards-based test suites. As part of this, InnoPath
has tested with the widest variety of other vendors. InnoPath has been awarded
15 patents and another 30+ are in-process.
Financial Strength
InnoPath's solid financials are based
on revenue-generating Tier 1 carrier deployments and successful
OEM partnerships, where we have been able to demonstrate
the value of both the server solution as well as the client.
The company's most recent financing was a $25 Million Series
D round in Summer, 2006. Investors include VantagePoint
Venture Partners, Nippon Venture Capital Corporation, Vertex
Management, Inc., Mitsui Venture Capital, Gemtek, Intel
Communications Fund, NTT Finance Corporation, Mitsui Sumitomo
Insurance Venture Capital and Saints Capital.

in leading the company.
